A relationship with the research centre “Habitat and Municipalities”
(CIHaM) has been established in 2001, mainly through Prof. Fernando
Murillo. Based on this cooperation students from Berlin University
of Technology have been participating in projects and carry out
field research in Buenos Aires.
Brazil
| USP, Universidade de São Paulo
The USP has been one of our partners in the ALFA project. Cooperation
beyond this EU-supported program and focuses on research issues
of common interest. Faculty VI receives and sends students through
a recently established exchange program. Students interested in
studying at Brazil’s most prominent university should contact
the office for foreign relations of Berlin University of Technology.
Chile
| PUC, Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, Santiago Escuela
de Arquitectura e Estudios Urbanos
A close cooperation exists since 2001 with the Escuela de Arquitectura
e Estudios Urbanos. Since 2005 this collaboration is also supported
by the chair for Constructive Architectural Design and Sustainable
Ecological Building, Prof. Hascher at TU Berlin. Main fields of
exchange are: urban development strategies, housing and sustainable
material development especially topics on wood and clay construction.
Joint projects include common studio classes (2006, 2004, and 2001).
Cooperation continues on different levels with students and for
PhD-research.
Mexico
| UNAM, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico-City
The National University of Mexico has a cooperation agreement with
Berlin TU since 2004. Faculty VI and the Faculty of Architecture
and Urbanism at the UNAM have an even longer lasting relation coordinated
by the Habitat Unit since 2006. Among other activities, an exchange
program for German and Mexican students offers a one year scholarship
to study at the partner institution. In March 2007, the Habitat
Unit organized an intensive course for UNAM students in Mexico on
international tendencies in urban development, funded by the DAAD.
Peru

The Universidad Nacional de Ingeneria has been one of our partners
in the ALFA project. Cooperation continues on different levels with
students and for PhD-research.
